Gear damper
Perfect, noiseless power transmission
without loss of stroke.
The gear damper ensures a backlash
free connection between handle
and gear, meaning that no cracking
noises are generated or loss of stroke
is incurred when operating heavy
sashes. The damper is integrated in all
PORTAL HS gears with a backset of
27.5 and 37.5 mm as standard.

The comfort gear is available for
the locking bolt and the hook bolt
gear. This includes a preassembled
accumulator. A spiral spring uses
the weight of the sash to reduce the
torque and lift the sash more easily.
The handle is prevented from snapping
back in an uncontrolled manner
when the sash is lowered into the
locking position. According to the
comfort requirement, a damper can
be used additionally for the comfort
gear for sash weights from approx.
300 kg. This will further prevent the
handle from snapping back.
Special spring:
if the element is
closed,
the spring serves
as an energy
storage mechanism.
When the element
is opened, the
spring discharges
the force again.
