If escape door products with functions B or D
are used, a split panic spindle must be used.
The figure on the left shows a symmetrical
spindle with a spindle square that is centred in
the lock.
The figure on the right shows an asymmetrical
spindle with a spindle square that is not
centred.
The exact lengths for the two spindle halves
must be determined to ensure that the square
is optimally positioned in the lock.
If escape door products with function E are
used, a one-piece panic spindle must be used.
The figure on the left shows a one-piece spindle,
which has the same dimensions as the spindle
square it actuates.
