2.1 Standard specifications
Standard specifications
The standard specifications given in this section apply for locks and multi-point locks that are intended for
use in smoke and fire protection closures.
Function
The goal of smoke and fire protection closures is to prevent fire and/or smoke from expanding within a
building.
In case of fire, adjacent sections of the building remain undamaged so that an unobstructed rescue route
exists for saving lives in case of an emergency.
A central requirement of the locking part is to keep the door closed reliably and for a long period of
time, even under the influence of heat.
